The Power of WE

BECAUSE NO ONE SHOULD FACE MENTAL ILLNESS ALONE

The Power of WE

Perhaps you’ve heard the popular mental health quote, “When you change I for WE, Illness becomes Wellness.” It’s the foundation for everything we are doing this year, because not only should “no one face mental illness alone,” but we know that we know that we can’t achieve that goal alone! We’re working hard this year to show you how we’re bring the community together to achieve the Power of WE for the benefit of those facing mental illness.

What’s coming up

Feb 1- March 1 – We’re hosting a shoe drive! With more nearly 40 locations across Johnson County, we’re joining with http://funds2orgs.com to collect gently worn, used and new shoes.

Collected shoes are used to support micro-enterprise vendors in developing nations. They are typically operated by one person or family and friends, depending on the size. Funds2orgs will pay us per pound based on the number of shoes collected. They’ve challenged us to collect 100 bags filled with 25 pairs of shoes and for that we would earn $1,000.00. We think we can do better! How about you?

These are 25 locations set up to accept YOUR donations and we couldn’t be any more grateful! Clean out your closets, bring us your stigma stompers (and any other shoe you don’t want), and participate in the Power of WE in funding the Reclamation Clubhouse!

We’re having a family dinner and networking event, Thursday, Feb. 20th from 5-8 at the Pegah’s Family Restaurant, just off of 87th & Quivira.

In addition to seeing each other, we’ll be taking shoe donations, have information about the upcoming Walk for Hope & the 2019 Night of Hope! We’re tentatively planning on unveiling our Mental Wellness Toolkit, a robust document designed to connect with individuals & families during hospitalization, meeting them at their most vulnerable times of crisis. You won’t want to miss this opportunity!

Plan to dine with us! Pegah’s is donating 20% of your total ticket to Pathway To Hope as a thank you for dining with them! Join us & see how amazing we are together!

The true Power of WE is realized when we share our stories, in full or in part. We’re looking for people that will help us this year by telling your story about how Mental Illness has affected your life and how the services of Pathway To Hope has helped.

You could be the person living with mental illness, a loved one or care giver, or a member of the community that participates with us. Everyone’s story matters!

Because we can’t tell our story without sharing your story, we want to record stories on video and in writing to use at events and across social media platforms during the course of the year. We know that stigma is still real so can make the stories anonymous, or you can help us stomp on stigma and share your story with your real identity. There’s no wrong way to help us connect the impact of connection through Pathway To Hope. We simply want to help bring the struggles to light, celebrate your successes and connect the public and our supporters to the reality of the Pathway To Hope journey!

Email us • Call us • Tell us face to face – just connect and let us know when you’re ready to tell your story!
